What we do
Walls are where set out really shows
Wall tiling is less forgiving than floors. Everything is at eye level, joints run vertically where the eye follows them, and there are far more cuts because of fixtures, corners and changes of plane.
The whole job is decided before the first tile goes on. We set the wall out dry, work out where the cuts fall, and adjust the starting point so you are not left with a sliver of tile in the most visible corner of the room.
- Walls checked for plumb and bow, then packed or floated where needed
- Dry set out first, so you know where every cut will land
- Joints kept aligned through corners and around fixtures
- Splashbacks scribed to benches and cabinetry rather than gap filled
- Correct trims and edge profiles at external corners
- Silicone rather than grout at every change of plane
