A next generation standard on an old school trade

Tiling has not changed much in a hundred years, and in most ways it should not. It is still a trade where the result comes down to preparation, patience and a straight eye. What has changed is the tile. Formats have got bigger, edges have got sharper and tolerances have got tighter, and plenty of the habits that worked fine on 300×300 do not survive contact with a 1200mm rectified tile.

That gap is where the name came from. We work to the standards the modern product actually demands, using levelling systems, laser set out and proper substrate preparation, while keeping the parts of the old trade that matter. Turning up when we said. Cleaning up after ourselves. Telling you the truth about what is under your floor.

Most of the work we get called out to fix is not bad tiling. It is a handover problem, where three trades each did their bit without looking at what came before. So we do the removal, the prep, the waterproofing, the tiling and the screen ourselves. One team, one number, one point of responsibility.
